‘22: The Assignment

"They ask me what I do and who I do it for, and how I come up with this sh-t up in the studio"

Do yall know what song that's from?

If you read my last post or know me at all, you know I like my trap music, and that's the line that played over in my head as I was preparing to write today's piece. So what am I doing and who or what am I doing this for?

Well, as most of you know, I am a single parent. As my life got reshaped around this particular fact, there was a lot of reasons why I chose to step into this lifestyle that I live today, and that’s because I see it as means of providing what I only think would be best for my mini me and I as we journey through life together. Being a single parent is hard. Your life doesn’t really just belong to you in this sense, because you have different priorities and responsibilities. Sometimes you may feel like you don’t even really have your own individual identity as yourself because you are always in parent mode. It may seem as if you yourself don’t even really matter because you’re mostly doing this parenting thing by yourself. You put yourself on the back burner because your wants and needs seem less and less important. It’ll wear you out, to say the least. It’s tough. It’s stressful. You probably never in a million years thought that you’d be in such a position. I know I didn’t.

And it’s crazy, because it truly takes a village to raise kids, ESPECIALLY in this world that we are living in today. It can feel super overwhelming, especially during the time when you could use some assistance when you and the kids are losing your marbles, but YOU are the parent. It’s wild, but this is one of the primary reasons I’ve grown passionate about coaching and our health, especially if you are a black woman like myself. But honestly, it doesn’t matter who you are. I started this business to not only help you create healthy habits that will sustain you for the longevity of your life but to also be of support to you when it feels like your back is against the wall and the times get tough. There is no rule book to any of this life stuff, and we all need somebody to lean on sometimes. So that’s why I am here, doing what I do, what I love and I hope that I can be of service to you.

If you’re interested in learning how I can be, I encourage you to book a consultation. They’re free and I feel like they are just as beneficial as a regular coaching session.

Don’t let life take you out before you get the chance on your own to hold space for yourself.

Xo.
